Learning to take chaos as a blessing.

Is a little chaos actually good for us?

Today’s WP writing prompt – made me laugh as I thought about the exhausting, crazy and chaotic, endless-cycle of Amy’s daily routine in the great and hilarious movie (Bad Moms).

If you’ve never seen it, you should! (Don’t forget to watch A BAD MOMS Christmas) after Bad moms.

Both of them are not movies for kids, so wait until your kids are in bed, and pour youurself a glass of wine. Enjoy!

You definitely have to have a sense of humor and not easily be offended to watch both movies, but I love them. 😁

The amazing actress (Mila Kunis) plays a married mom (Amy). She eventually finds out her husband is enjoying his alone time with an online cam model, and (Amy) kicks him out of their home, as she then has to navigate life as a semi-single mother doing everything on her own, while she’s about to go through a divorce as well.

In the scene where she’s describing her never-ending chaos, she says:

That’s me.

That is totally me, and I’m non-stop on the go – all the time.

Even when I think I can sleep-in or relax, one of my kids tells me there’s something to do, or they have to go somewhere, or something needs to be done.

Chaos should have been my middle name.

Between work, rushing around picking up dinner, getting home to make dinner, getting my little dude ready for Baseball practice or Baseball games, cleaning the house, getting laundry done, paying bills, feeding the animals and making sure they have clean liter, and water, trying to get my daughter into a good EMS/Medic program, filling out applications for her, picking up extra shifts at work, keeping up with family and friends, calls I have to make to people who left me messages, grocery shopping, vet visits, and so many other things…………………………………………………………..

Chaos is totally a thing here.

Did that whole list I wrote out non-stop – make your head spin? It makes mine do loops.

Let’s add on unexpected bills I sometimes get and forget about, jury duty that I’m all of a sudden summoned to, car repairs that need to be done, bed-time routines, waking up early to have at least 30 minutes to myself in silence with a hot cup of coffee I’m probably going to forget about and have to heat up 3 times before I actually get to drink it anyway, and other things I have going on and I’m dealing with – it’s a lot.

It’s a whole lot!

Still, I love being a mom. I love working. I love making money. I love the running around. I love the crazy, wild, chaos.

I can’t say I love unexpected curve balls life throws at me, or the 20 million other things I have to do daily, errands I have to run, or new things that keep popping up that keep me on my toes, but as much as I feel like I’m going to lose my mind – I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Life is crazy chaotic right now, but it keeps me busy, doesn’t let me slack off much, and doesn’t give me time to be down and depressed.

Sometimes, the chaos is so crazy and good – that while I have problems sleeping – there’s some nights my eyes close before my head even hits the pillow because I’m so tired from running around all day and being so busy. There are times I’m so tired, that my sleep problems aren’t an issue and I knock out right on the couch when I sit down to relax for a moment.

So, to answer this question – a little (or, even a lot for some of us) of chaos – IS good for us.

It keeps us busy and keeps our minds off of the things we don’t want to think about.

It helps us sleep at night if we’re so busy, we’re exhausted at the end of the day.

It can actually help keep us focused on the things we really need to get done and prioritize.

Sometimes, chaos can keep us motivated and make us want to do other things we’ve been slacking on.

So, yes – chaos is good for us, and if you have chaos in your life right now, take it as a blessing.

Who wants to be bored all the time, and have NOTHING going on?

So, cheers to Chaos. 🍻I think we all have a little bit inside of us and around us, and it’s a beautiful thing.

Soulmate Vs. Your person!

Daily writing prompt
Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not?

Today’s WP prompt question gives me a ROSS AND RACHEL vibe!

If you’ve watched the show F.R.I.E.N.D.S. before – you’ll know.

He was her person and no matter what guy she dated, where she relocated or was in life, no matter what she was going through – she knew that. She was his person, and no matter woman he dated, where he was, or what he was going through – he knew that.

They were each other’s happy place.

To answer the question, No. I don’t believe in Soulmates, but I do believe that everyone has their person out there.

When you find your person – you’ll just know.

And no, it’s not the same thing as Soulmates.

From Google’s POV:

“A Soulmate is typically about a deep, spiritual, or instant connection meant to teach you lessons, while “your person” – is your chosen, long-term teammate who provides everyday stability and reliability”.

Google goes on to share that:

Soulmate: Often feels like a predestined, magnetic pull. These relationships can be intense and rocky, arriving to challenge you, change your perspective, and foster personal growth.

Your Person: This is a conscious, everyday choice. They are your reliable best friend, safe space, and life partner who sticks by you through practical challenges.

I like the idea of “my person” being out there somewhere.

I don’t like the word Soulmates for some reason, and I’ve never believed in that sort of thing.

I think “your person” is more practical, and makes more sense.

The person who makes you feel loved, safe, protected. Not every day is going to be roses and sunshine, but your person makes you feel like no matter what – he or she is going to be there to get you through everything, so you don’t have to do the hard times alone.

No matter what mistakes you both make, what you go through together, how many times you disagree, or so on – you know in your heart you can’t be without that person, and that’s the person who makes you the happiest.

It’s hard to explain in my opinion, but they’re not the same thing and I believe in “your person” being out there or having your person – more than soulmates.

Make sense?

We all have our person out there, and if you’ve found yours, Congrats! 😊💕

If not, trust me when I say it will eventually happen, and you’ll just know.

Google also says:

“Your person” refers to someone with whom you share a profound, unconditional connection. They are your ultimate confidant, someone who accepts your flaws, celebrates your victories, and provides a safe space—whether they are a romantic partner or a best friend.

I couldn’t have said it better myself!

This scene always makes me a little sad – when Ross finally gets the nerve to tell Rachel how he truly feels and she’s about to move and start a new job!

See?

He knew that was his person, and he waited too long.

If you know who your person is already, don’t do that.

Don’t be a Ross. lol.

So, no. I don’t believe in the Soulmate thing and don’t even like the word, but I do believe in having your person!

Have a blessed day my loves!

Unlimited happiness.

If you had an unlimited budget for 24 hours, what would you do?

So, this is today’s WP writing prompt and it made me smile.

They say money can’t buy happiness, but in reality – whoever has tons of money and can’t find happiness from it – is shopping at the wrong malls / stores! 👀

If I had an unlimited budget for 24 hours, what would I do?

I’d be sitting at my computer for a few minutes – to pay off my car and start some kind of “give away”, so someone could win it.

A single mom or dad who has no car.

Someone whose car is about to break down.

A teenager who just got their license, but their parents can’t afford to give them a car.

I’d give mine away after paying it off – to someone who truly needs it, and then – I’d go to the dealer and get myself a nice family SUV.

Of course, I’d have to stop at Starbucks in my nice family SUV, and celebrate the fact that I finally have one, and got rid of my little foreign one.

I’d make sure the kids and I went shopping. More for them – than myself – to allow them to pick out brand new clothes and shoes.

I’d pack up my entire apartment and get the hell out of Minnesota, and move closer to home again.

I’d totally pay off other bills, and send some money to friends, so they can enjoy a day or two doing whatever they want to do to treat themselves or their kids. 🩷

I’m not hard to please.

I don’t need or want the finer things in life.

I just want that family SUV finally, my bills to be paid, to get out of Minnesota and back to people and places we love and know, and my kids, friends and family to be happy.

That’s not too much to ask for. Is it? 🧐

  Yes!

That is all.

I hope you all have a lovely day.

I’m about to start mine and run errands with my older son and relax before tonight’s graduation ceremony and tomorrow’s early morning road trip to IL. ❤️

         Sending love your way!
