Send me that genie, and an Elijah giggle.

The genie grants you a wish. What is it?

Some extra money in my bank account.

Seriously.

I don’t need a lot. Just some money to play around with and handle the things that need to be handled.

An extra $5,000 would be lovely.

Do your thing, Genie. 😁

I had to giggle because as I was writing this, my little dude looked over my shoulder, laughed and asked me if I really wanted a genie to put $5,000 in my bank account.

Damn right, kid! Damn right! 🫩🤣

    There.

Today’s WP writing prompt has been answered.

Now…. moving along….

My little dude – (Elijah) -came out of school last week with a box of those (World’s finest chocolates). I totally forgot he brought a paper home the week before – asking how many boxes we wanted to try to sell, and I just signed him up for one.

I thought to myself, “Shit!” – when he walked out of school with it because really – where are we going to sell all those chocolate bars?

He immediately asked if we could go door-to-door and I immediately shut that down and told him “Absolutely not!”. I explained that there are creeps out there, crazy people, etc. and we never know who is behind those doors we’re knocking on, or if they are sane / criminals / rude people who don’t want to be bothered.

I told him for safety reasons, we can go to police stations on my day off. Fire houses. Hospitals. Other spots where it’s safe to go to and know that we’ll make it back alive. (lol). Right?

So, while I was at work one day – my older son (Frankie) and my daughter (Kailani) snuck Elijah out of the house and took him and his box of chocolates door-to-door selling.

My face when I found out!

My older kids thought I was crazy thinking that the beautiful neighborhood we live in – is filled with creeps, criminals and rude people, so they didn’t see any harm in taking their little brother door-to-door.

They feel like it’s such a great neighborhood and everyone is so friendly.

I will say this!

I’m not mad at all.

They said that the box of chocolates sold within 2 blocks, and the only types of people who opened every door that was knocked or where their bell was rang – was either sweet elderly people or sweet families.

They said there were no creeps. No criminals. No rude people. I mean ….how do they know they weren’t creeps or criminals? Ha.

My kids said that people brought chocolates from Elijah quickly, they were so nice about – and one lady gave him $10 for 2 chocolate bars and told him to keep the change when the bars were only $2 each. 💜 A few people didn’t even want chocolates, but they gave Elijah some money.

That box was sold, and that’s all that matters.

That meant I didn’t have to worry about it and take him to police stations, fire houses, hospitals, etc.

Heck. There was a mom on one county Facebook group page asking if anyone wanted to buy chocolates and one guy offered her $80 for the entire box. So, they do sell fast, and my son ended up getting a crazy pair of burger socks!

That was from a few days ago…but he sure did leave his pant legs up and walked onto the playground and into the school like that. 😄

He didn’t care. He wanted to make people laugh. ☺️

He kept begging me to ask the school for more boxes, and it was a (no) for me. He did great selling the first box and that’s all he needed.

I also got him a pair of new shoes a few days ago.

Some black on black Nikes because as you can see – he gets white  dirty – pretty fast.

I was in Kohls because that’s always where I get his shoes and they’re such a great price for kids. Kohl’s had all of their holiday / Christmas stuff out – as well as some Christmas trees put up.

I wanted to shop so badly, but I walked straight to the shoes and straight to the cashier because I knew if I looked around…I was about to spend money I didn’t need to be spending. Ugh.

Thank God I don’t have a credit card with no limits. That would be dangerous. 😂

I absolutely love Kohl’s, but they are so expensive.

Still a great place for kids shoes though.

I’d love to sit here and write so much more, but it’s been a long day and I’m exhausted.

     I shall return.
