Make sure that bitch is beautiful, and join me in some giggles.

What’s a personal mantra or philosophy you live by?

Like the amazing Lil’ Wayne said:

“Karma is a bitch, so just make sure that bitch is beautiful!”.

I love that, and I live by it.

I try my best to be there for people, be kind to everyone and do what I can for those who truly need help – because I believe that what goes around really does come back around.

The universe gives you what you put out into it and if you’re putting out beautiful vibes and karma, it’s going to eventually spin back around to help you out when you need it the most and expect it the least.

I love that, live my life around that and hope you will as well. ❤️

With that being said …and today’s WP writing prompt answered…let’s switch up here.

Friday – we went to the doctor my kids have seen since they were newborns.

Dr. A.

Dr. A has been a huge part of our family for 26 years, ever since my oldest daughter was a baby. When my 2nd born came along, Dr. A. was his Dr. as well, and he was also the doctor to my two younger kids.

He’s watched my kids grow up all these years, and whenever they were sick, just needed physicals, needed shots, or I was concerned about something – Dr. A. never had me make an appointment.

He always squeezed us in and had time for us the very same day! 😊 Dr. A. always put my mind at ease if I was worried about anything, and he has always been such a sweet man.

Heck. One time – I was changing insurance companies and one of my sons was sick and had to go see Dr. A.

I told Dr. A. to bill me, but he marched right up to his nurses and office girls and told them, “Do not charge my friend here”. He refused to let me pay for that visit.

Dr. A. has meant so much to us for years and years, and when we moved to Minnesota in 2020, we went to go see him one last time, and he gave my kids one last exam – telling us no matter where we are in the world – no matter where go – I can always call him or bring the kids back to him and he will always see them, or address any concerns I have. ❤️

If you want to laugh, my older son was about 17 at that time when we were going to move to Minnesota, and Dr. A. wanted to talk to him alone.

When they came out of the exam room together, my son was putting a bunch of condoms into his pocket. Dr. A. saw my face and told me – (before I could say anything) …. “Mama! Don’t have that look on your face before you hear me out. Would you rather me get him started with a bunch of condoms and he’s safe out there, or he finds himself in a tough situation – unprotected and you become a young grandma?”.

🫩 He was right. 👀 Frankie is 23 now and has no kids because he knows the importance of protection.

Dr. A. always knew what was best.

We got him a few gifts when we went to see him that final time before we moved, and I cried when we got in the car. I knew we would miss him so much and I just wanted to take him with us!

Now that we’re back in Illinois and my little dude needed a physical / exam for his new school he’s at, I called Dr. A. right away. This man is in his 80s now and still working, and I love that.

His office moved, but when I called him to make an appointment, he told me I could come in the next day and gave me the address to the new spot. The next day – we walked in and he was so happy to see us.

He remembered us getting him gifts years ago, asked what made us move back, said he was so happy to see us.

He told his new office girl that my kids were his patients for years.

He last saw my little dude when he was three, and he was so amazed at how big he’s gotten, as he’s almost 10 now.

We chatted for a bit, the exam was done, paperwork was filled out and I told him I’d be calling again to make an appointment for my youngest daughter, who is now 18. He was talking to her about what she wants to do with her life, and he was so happy that these babies of mine that he has been the Dr. to – for years and years – are doing amazing.

He asked my daughter what her big sister and brother are doing these days, and we talked to him about my older son, but we had to give him the unfortunate news that my oldest daughter had passed. He was sad about that, and we talked about the car accident that took her from us. He told me how sorry he was, and I shared that these days – I just try to remember all of the funny and good memories. 💝

We were so happy to see Dr. A. and so lucky that he’s still doing what he loves best. I will say that I noticed he was walking so much slower, he’s not as fast as he used to be, and even when he was putting on gloves – he was slow with it.

I told my daughter, “2026 – better NOT!”.

She knew exactly what I was talking about.

He’s old and he’s obviously showing signs of slowing down and aging more, but I pray to God he lives another few years at least.

He’s such an amazing and sweet man.

When my older son had a hernia, Dr. A. caught it right away and did the surgery. When my youngest daughter was diagnosed with ADHD by another provider and that provider placed my daughter on meds that made her seem like a zombie at the age of 8, Dr. A. was quick to take her off those meds, said she didn’t need them, and she’d grow out of ADHD if she had it because she wasn’t showing many signs of it.

She has now been a straight A – honor roll student for years, graduated high school and wants to become an EMT / Paramedic, so he was right.

We love Dr. A. and always have! He’s been a part of our lives for 26 years as I mentioned, he’s watched my babies grow, and now – we get to have him in our lives even longer.

I’m just happy my kids have him back as their doctor.

…I still have to sit down and write about some of the many things that have been going on in my life the last few crazy months, but I’ll get to it eventually.

For now, I enjoy swinging over to my site here every now and then, answering a good old WP writing prompt, telling a few funny or cute stories, sharing some things and heading back out!

I like giving y’all something to read with your morning coffee or evening wine / beer, or lemonade / tea.

While it may not be a whole lot because I’m a whole lot  busy – these days and don’t have the time, I always want to jot something and I love to write for those who enjoy what I have to say.

I will also say that my car is done for.

My (BMW) is a goner. Rest in peace. Ha.

That damn car that I tried so hard to save for so long – did me bogus and gave up. It is what it is!

It was a Passat, but anyone who saw it for the first time always thought it was a BMW, so after a while – I stopped correcting people.

I really loved that car.

Unfortunately – it didn’t love me back, and it gave me so many problems from the time I got it in July 2021 – all the way until it finally died for good a few weeks ago.

So, I just became a mini-van mom after weeks of having a rental that cost me tons of money weekly. I finally dropped the rental off today, and I’m driving a soccer mom van that my uncle found me. 😁 It’s actually pretty decent and has tons of room, and the way the windows and doors open are awesome.

Plus – I can add DVD players, tvs, whatever – eventually – for the kids, as there’s spots for those on the roof in 3 different places.

Eventually – I’ll get an SUV in the near future, but for now – the van is just fine and my little guy loves it! 😊

I never thought I’d be in a mini – van. That’s not my style, but I drove it today for the first time and I actually didn’t mind it. 💜 I’m grateful to have something decent and to have given that damn, expensive rental back.

I have a few friends who drive mini-vans and they refuse to drive anything else because they are so spacious and great for so many reasons, so – I’ll join that club with pride for now. (lol).

My car had $6,000 worth of work done and then the timing jumped – which would have been another $2,500, but then they realized the engine was shot and I was just over this damn car. So, I needed something else quick, fast and in a hurry.

….in other news …

It’s my favorite time of the year. Fall.

We all know that Halloween kicks off the holidays and we’re getting so close to the holidays, I feel like screaming, “Can we just slow down for a minute?”. Dang!

Usually, I’m ready for the holidays in August, but this year has been so wild – that I’m far from ready.

Still, I welcome October and fall, and we all know that:

Here in Illinois, I love 93.9 Lite FM and they usually turn on the (Holiday Lite) as they call it – at the beginning of November.

All Christmas music, all the time. 24/7 until after Christmas is over. So, yes…I’m excited, but part of me isn’t because 2026 has kicked my ass and I’m in a mad rush to get ready for the holidays now.

Still – God is good, and I believe everything will be alright way before the holidays get here. 🤞

I stay Prayed up

I’m going to get out of here and get some sleep.

Kailani (my daughter and I) were in Minnesota yesterday to get a few things we needed, and we stopped by to say hello to her friends – who were so happy to see her and vice versa).

We ended up getting home at 5 AM this morning, so I didn’t get much sleep.

I took my older son to work. I took my little dude to school. My uncle helped take me to get the van registered and pick up the plates, I dropped off the rental, and did so many other things.

I’m exhausted and it’s time for this 40+ woman to get to bed.

I have to giggle because a friend of mine and I – like to joke that we’re old ladies now.

Back in our younger years – the backyard or house parties were just getting started At 8 PM,  and now – we’re in bed reading, talking to each other, or watching the news by 8 PM. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Y’all have a blessed and beautiful night.

     Sweet dreams!
